Sprout - Ep 12 (Final Thoughts)

I never expected myself to be enjoying this drama so much. I guess I enjoyed it so much that I was able to write almost each of the episode's summary/thoughts. Now that this is the final episode, we get to see how it all ends.

One year has passed. Miku, Miyuki, Souhei and Hayato, all return to school and back to their normal student life. Miku doesn't really interact with them that much at school. But they do pass each other only to greet one another.

Later on, Miku bumps into Miyuki  and they have a little chat together. It's been a long time since they have talked to each other. Miku reminiscences about the past where Miyuki stayed over at her house and how they use to talk about many things. Then, Miyuki  asks her if she still likes Souhei. Miku says that she's doesn't like him or anything. Ever since he left the boarding house, she felt that they were just classmates. Miyuki tells her that she's a bad liar. It's been a year and Miku has not made any progress with Souhei. She asks her if it's okay that Souhei goes out with someone. Miku says that it's up to him to decide. Miyuki gets concerned for her and tells her to just take a step forward. If she doesn't do this, then Miyuki will feel that the break up with Souhei would be meaningless.

Meanwhile, Hayato talks with Souhei about why he won't go to Miku. Hayato wants him to hurry up and confess to her. But Souhei says that he is fine with Miku going out with other guys, as long as it makes her happy. Then, Hayato grabs him and punches him in the face (ouch!). He gets angry and yells at him for having no idea what Miyuki and he had went through. He wants be glad of breaking up with Miku. And, if she doesn't become happy, then he won't able to feel that way.

Miku and Souhei finds each other on the stairs outside the school. The very stairs where she first met her fated person. Then, she finally remembers the face of the fated person. It was Souhei.

Thoughts: I loved the scene where Hayato punches Souhei in face. That will surely wake him up from his denial thoughts.

Finally! Miku and Souhei are together. I was hoping that they would figure out for themselves that they have feelings for each other. I mean, what are they waiting for? Miyuki is no longer with Souhei and Miku is no longer with Hayato. This is the perfect moment to get together. But thanks to Miyuki and Hayato's little pep talk, it gave them a push to do something about it. In the end, Souhei was the fated person. I was hoping that it could be someone else, besides Hayato or Souhei. It would give the story a twist and something interesting to happen. But oh well.

Overall, I thought it was an enjoyable drama to watch. I liked the youthful summer feeling that the story gave off. For some reason, every time I watch this show, it reminds me of my own youthful days. Sprout is a simple and straightforward teen romance story as well as, a coming of age story. But I understand now why this series is titled Sprout because it is about the characters learning to grow up from their insecurities. It was a perfect drama to watch during the summer.
