Yuri!!! on Ice - EP 8 & 9

Oh so dirty and I love it!

Episode 8

We are now in the last stage of the competition in Moscow, that will determine who will go to the GPF. Yuri is now has regained his confidence and he’s become more comfortable around Victor (not afraid to show that off). At this stage, he’s learned to perfect his craft and this competition should be a piece of katsu-don for him. Unless, some bad mojo pulls him off his feet.

Yuri is competing against the last group of skaters from Canada: Jean-Jacques, (a.k.a JJ Style whose ego is bigger than his heart), Korea: Seung Gil Lee (with the big sexy eyebrows), Italy: Michele Crispino (loves his sister dearly), Czech Republic: Emil Nekola, and last is Yurio.

Fun fact: Yurio's persona is based on a female Russian skater Yulia Lipnitskaya (at age 15) because of cats and leopard prints.

It’s Yuri vs. Yuri. As usually, Yurio is still bitter towards Victor and Yuri. But both of them are so proud of Yurio because he has made it this far and their boy has grown up. It’s too bad that his grandpa didn’t come to see his show, I wonder what’s up with that. Anyway, Yuri receives bad news that Victor’s dog, Maccachin, is sick because he ate all of the dumpling from Yuri’s dog altar (Butsudan). Victor has no choice but go back to Japan. In the meantime, Yurio’s coach will take care of Yuri.

Episode 9

I actually like Yurio’s Free Program better than his Agape theme in the Short. It’s more suited for him. Amazingly, he nailed all of his jumps perfectly. He made it to second place and a guarantee spot in the GPF. For Yuri, Victor’s absent has affected him and he made a few mistakes on his jump. He got fourth place, but at least he still gets to go to the GPF, with the help of his second place win in China. That’s great news.

Yuri is emotionally and physically worn out. He has made it this far, so he deserves a hug from everyone. Hopefully, he gets some rest before the big day comes and it’s also his birthday (11/29th). For Yuri and Yurio, they both had a rocky start, but they are in good terms with each other. Yurio congratulates (mostly scolding him) him for making it this far and also he remembers his birthday (how sweet).

Like watching a romance drama, Yuri reunites with victor at the airport in Japan and also Maccachin is alive and well. Yuri proposes to Victor that he stay as his coach until he retires. And, Victor doesn’t mind it. This turns out to be a great birthday present for Yuri.
