Sprout - Ep 6
Continuing where the 5th episode left off, Miyuki apologizes him for her sudden embracement. She tells Hayato to make sure that he holds onto Miku. But from afar, Arata and Takeru secretly spies on the them. They promise that they would never tell what they saw to Souhei.
While Miku and her classmates are stuck taking math lessons, Souhei occupies himself by cleaning the soccer balls. He passes by the female manger, Haruka, who asks him, "which one does he have real feelings for, Miyuki or Miku?" Souhei is surprised that Miku is mentioned. But Haruka knows that Miku likes him. She thinks that neither of the girls are best suited for him. And, she was about to suggest who he is suited for, until the soccer coach interrupts them.
Later, Souhei promises Miyuki that after he finishes with his soccer practice, he would take her out somewhere. Then, Miku, Arata, and Takeru meet up with them after finishing their lessons. Arata and Takeru both stare at Miyuki silently, knowing what happened between Hayato and her. But when she looks at them, they quickly excuse themselves to change into their soccer uniforms. As Miku was about to leave she looks on at Souhei and Miyuki. She was hoping to get close to Souhei during the summer break, but it was just her wishful thinking. When Miku leaves, Miyuki wonders if she and Hayato are getting along. She wishes that both them will be happy.
As Miku heads home, she meets Kou who is buying menchi katsu. He was told that he could buy a really great meat for his 15th birthday celebration. That's when she decides to invite Kou and Hayato to her home to celebrate Kou's birthday because she believes that it's better to have more people for a celebration. Miku's mother welcomes them. And, she tells them that she has bought a lot of meat so that she could make Kou's favorite food, yakiniku. Hayato apologizes to her for his brother being so bothersome. But she doesn't mind it. Since Hayato helped Miku with her studies, so she wanted to thank him. And, she welcomes him as part of the family.
At school, Souhei meets up with Miyuku as they head off to a hamburger restaurant. But he gets a text message from Miku saying that she is celebrating Kou's birthday at home and wonders if he can come. Souhei did not know that it was Kou's birthday today. So, he decides that they should go the birthday party and go to hamburger place some other time. However, that made Miyuki very upset and she decides to go home. Then, he asks her if she really wanted to eat hamburgers that badly. But she tells him that it's not the hamburgers and she's not going to tell him why she's so upset. So with that, she leaves.
Souhei has made it to Kou's birthday party. And, the whole household is there as well. While they were cutting the cake, Souhei gets a text message from Miyuki saying that she is sorry and wants to meet with him. He immediately goes out. Miku notices that he left and follows him outside of the house.
Miku knows that Souhei is going to see Miyuki. She also takes a hint that Miyuki knows about Kou's birthday party. Miku tells him that she understands why everyone in school calls her "Uzamiyu." She's annoying and can't read the atmosphere. But Souhei gets mad and says that this has nothing to do with it. He already knows Miyuki has the reputation of being known as that. He recalls the day when he first met her during their middle school year. He took pity on her upon hearing the other school girls gossiping about her. So, they ultimately became friends. However, during the time when his parents were getting a divorce, it was Miyuki who saved him from his depression. He says that even if the whole world calls her annoying or hate her, he would be her ally. Then, he runs off to meet with Miyuki. Miku thinks to herself that her feelings for him will never reach him and she will never win over Miyuki.
Looking defeated, she sits alone outside of the house. Hayato joins her after eavesdropping on their whole conversation. But he lets her have permission to lend his back, if she needs to cry. Then, she hugs him.
Thoughts: It really sounded like Haruka wanted to tell Souhei that the person who is best suited for him is herself. I don't know what she's up to, but it really is none of her business concerning about his affairs. I'm getting a feeling that she might like him or maybe she's just being overprotective. I'm not really sure what to think of her.
I really liked Souhei's speech about Miyuki, the way he defended for her, and it showed that he does still care for her. I really hope that by the end, Souhei and Miyuki are still together. Because, I like them the way they are.
Although, I am a little worried about the next episode. It looks like Miku and Hayota are giving themselves a another chance at a date, but Souhei is beginning to have feelings for Miku. No! I don't want it to go that way.
