Keizoku 2: SPEC - Sho (Special)

I grew impatient waiting for subs, so I watched it raw. I might have to re-watch it later when the subs come out because there are a few things that I didn't quite understand. But I can give you the basic premise of this Special without giving out too much spoilers.

Toma (Toda Erika) and Sebumi (Ryo Kase) are back and ready for duty. They work at the Public Safety Bureau under the Unidentified Crime Unit, where they deal with criminals who have special powers known as SPEC. Toma and Sebumi investigate a strange killing spree where a guy dressed in all black, carrying a gun, murdering innocent lives as well as his intended victim Satomi, who has the SPEC of fortunetelling the future. However, the only person who survived that incident is a high school girl named Nozomi. They take an interest in this case because the killer in black has the SPEC of teleportation and is going after people who have SPEC. Later, they talk with Nozomi to help them identify the killer and they also provide protection for her because they suspect that the killer will go after her. As the investigation continues, they try to figure out what the killer's motives are.

In the very last episode of Keizoku 2: SPEC drama, it was hinted that Toma might be a SPEC holder. In this Special, it revealed her special power and that was to summon the dead with her left hand. She mostly summoned the characters that have appeared in previous episodes. Also, with their help, using their special power to defeat the killer in black. She also summoned Ninomae (Kamiki Ryunosuke), her ex-archvillian. It was nice to see him again and it's too bad he's not evil here in this Special because this actor does a great job playing as the villain. I'd love to see him do more villain roles in future. Anyway, I don't want to give out too much spoilers about his character.

The random gags that appeared here and there in the drama were awkward and funny as usual. Toma, Sebumi and other character's eccentric antics were amusing to watch. It was fun to watch Toda Eika with her character's unpredictable moments and does a great job in portraying a oddball character.

Now, that I have seen the Special, all of my questions that I had for the cliffhanger ending has finally been answered. And, next is the movie. I have no idea what the movie is going to be about. I mean, I have seen the trailer, but there was so many things happening at the same time and my mind just cannot wrap around it. I wonder what kind of crazy twists will this movie pull off. However, I definitely recommend this series. If you are interested in a different kind of crime story with a supernatural twist, then this is a must watch. If you are a fan of this show, then this special wont disappoint you.

I wonder if that actually taste good.
