Hinata manages to safely cross the bridge. Then,
Morishige decides to go with Hinata because she thinks that they will
find rescue much more quicker with two people. So, she safely crosses the bridge, while
Konno and Kamiya stay behind and wait for rescue to come.
They are found and rescued by Igarashi sensei (Masataka Kubota) and the other rescuers. Morishige and Hinata are the first ones to be rescued. Then later, Kamiya and Konno are rescued by via helicopters.
Konno wakes up in a hospital, surround by her
family. Her family tells her the good news that all of her surviving classmates are alive
and well, including Haru. Then, Hinata turns himself in to police and explains what went
on in the woods. Morishige tells Igarashi sensei about her personal problems.
And, Kamiya is still recuperating from her injury, but she gets to be reunited with
her siblings.
In the end, everyone gets a happy ending and they were able to forgive themselves from what they have done in the past. Also, they are able to start over as the new school year starts.
Thoughts: Phew! I'm glad to see that it had somewhat of a happy ending. I really thought that Morishige was the
only one to survive because that's what the drama lead me to believe. But
that's not the case. This show is so tricky.
Anyway, I kind
of felt sorry that Usui gets left out in the end. They did briefly mention her,
but we never know if the rescuers ever find Usui's dead body. What about her parent's reaction when they find out that their
daughter is dead? Or, what about the outcome of the school's reaction to the tragic event. It could of had a bittersweet
ending if they all would of had been standing in front of Usui's grave and having a
moment of reflection. But oh well. This is a 30 minute drama, so they have to
wrap up quickly.
Overall, I wouldn't say that this is my favorite
drama, but it was an interesting psychological survival story to watch. There
were moments when it gets a little unrealistic and melodramatic. But it did had
good build up of tension. It made me feel on edge and dread for whats going to happen next.
