I Quit Twitter (for the second time)

It’s a constant struggle…
I should be honest with myself. I gave myself a second chance, I try to distant myself from twitter as much as possible and only post things about my blog or other entertainment news. But in reality, I’m done with twitter and there’s no point of me being on there anymore. I’ve become uncomfortable being on twitter because the censorship and disinformation is going to get worse. Also, the new CEO of Twitter doesn’t respect the First Amendment.
I know that twitter and many other social media site have rules on what you can post and they have the right to remove content if it breaks the rules, I’m completely fine with that. But when they go outside of their own rules and take the law into their own hands, they become a judge and executioner, who determines what’s right or wrong for the society. That’s not okay, it’s going too far.
The internet has become so warped, it’s not the real world. Twitter represent a small, loud, and angry groups of people. This does not reflect what the whole world is thinking. I’m really tired and exhausted from all of this. I really need to permanently drop twitter. Because all I do is doomscrolling and it’s not helping me in anyway.
I should have listened to my first instincts. If you feel there's something wrong either speak up or walk away. All my life, I’ve been keeping my head down and trying to ignore the problems. But these problems won’t go away if you don’t stand your ground and grow a backbone. I think the most easiest way to do this is to vote with your wallet. Support products, people, companies that shares your good moral values and respects their supporters.
Right now, in America, we're not doing so great. We are being bombarded with politics and we’ve become so divided that nobody wants to talk to each other or find a middle ground solution. The culture is falling apart. Sadly, the identity politics is also seeping though the entertainment industry. The reason why I love entertainment such as movies, video games, books, and TV shows is to escape from reality, enjoy creativity and have fun. Not to be reminded of the current problems and excessively shaming fans for not liking their products or treating them like trash.
Anyway, I want to move on and keep this short. We are living in crazy times and what helped me keep myself sane is to: turn off the TV or phone, go outside and get some fresh air. Focus on your favorite hobbies, make art, and other things that matters to you. These will help you keep yourself grounded in these troubled times.
