I Quit Twitter
If you notice that my Twitter page is gone, that's because I decided to quit. I've been there for about a decade and I had a fun ride. I enjoyed being connected with other people from around the world and sharing/seeing the hilarious tweets. But I realize now, I'm not getting any value from it anymore. I am feeling social media fatigued and I need to focus more on my self-care and mental health.
Nothing bad has happen to me on Twitter, the people who I follow and who follow in return are good people and I've had positive-small experiences. But I've seen other people get hurt by it. Like, being bullied, shunned, getting canceled (for absurd reasons), censorship, and dogpiling on people who have different opinions. There's so much negative energy on Twitter, I can't deal anymore. Twitter is a bad form of communicating. And, this why I switched to focusing on just blogging. All social media has its' problems, but Twitter is the WORST out of all of them. And, I can no longer be there and support the platform.
Twitter has made me feel like an addict and it's time to unplug myself from the system. Right now, I actually feel a lot better, I should of done this a long time ago.
I'd like to add one additional note here, we're living in strange times and it feels like the world has turned upside down. What I've learned from all of this chaos: think for yourselves, do your own research, and look at both sides of the narrative. There are always two sides to every story. It's okay to have different opinions from everyone else. It's okay to question things (even if it's stupid). Be curious and be adventurous. As long we respect each other and keep the conversation civil, then we can learn to get along with our differences.
