Aldnoah.Zero - First Impression (eps 1-3)

First, a little history lesson. During the Apollo mission in 1972, the astronauts found an artifact that belonged to the ancient Martians called the Hypergate. This technology helped people to travel to Mars and actually live there. However, the Vers Empire of Mars got greedy and they wanted the Hypergate all to themselves. So, they waged war with Earth. As a result, the Moon has been blown up, along with the Hypergate. The remaining Vers people are floating in orbit on their spaceships.

15 years later, in the year 2014, the Princess of Mars, Asseylum, visits Earth for peaceful intentions. But a group of people has targeted the Princess for assassination. The Vers, thinking that the Princess is dead, they use this as an excuse to go to war with Earth again.

In this story, we get different perspectives of people who are from Earth and Mars. Like, Inaho Kaizuka is a student whose in military training. But he doesn't react emotionally on what's happening around him. While everyone is evacuating the city and many other chaotic things happening outside, he's at home calmly making omelets. Until his big sister calls him: What the heck are you still doing there! It was hilarious. But I think that he does care because he wants to fight back for his friends who died.

Slain Troyaid of Mars. He's originally from Earth. He also has a huge crush on the Vers princess. Poor Slain, he's being abused by his superior officers because their racists against Terrans. But Slain is a little hesitant killing his own kind. (I wonder if he's going to betray his own team.) I hope that Inaho and him will collide into each other someday.

The first couple of episodes it already sets up a intense and brutal atmosphere. The horrible things has just begun. And as a added bonus, it has a awesome soundtrack. I'm getting Shingeki feelings all over again. But it looks entertaining. I'm really looking forward to seeing how the whole story will unfold and how the characters will develop. The story is written by Gen Urobuchi who also did Gargantia and Psycho-Pass. So, here's hoping that the show will have a solid storytelling.
