Ando Llyod: First Impression

A quick summary of the drama: Reiji Matsushima (Takuya Kimura) is a genius physicist who later gets murdered. His fiance, Asahi Ando (Kou Shibasaki), her life is in danger and somebody wants her dead. But then android Lloyd, who looks exactly like Reiji, appears in front of her and tells her that his mission is to keep her alive.

The drama has such a bizarre story. I seriously don't know what's going on. The first episode already leaves so many questions that are yet to be answered.

So, how does Reiji come up with a list of people who will be killed? He creates a list, the "Homicidal Calender," of all the researchers who were killed at a specific date and time. He and Asahi are on that list and are next in line to be killed. Asahi doesn't understand why she is on the list because she's not a researcher, she works at a software company. But according to the sypnotheses that I read, Reiji and a group of researchers discovered a wormhole. So, is there time traveling involved here? Or, did they find an alternate universe? Because that will explain where Lloyd comes from and the nurse android (Tsubasa Honda), popping out of desk drawers like in Doraemon.

Who are after Reiji and Asahi? A bunch of androids. According to Laplace (Ayano Fukuda), there will be ten units coming after Asahi. What's their motive for going after them? That's a mystery.

Who are the other characters? It seems like the Tokyo Metropolitan Police knows about the list and Reiji's research. They have been spying on Asahi and Reiji. Also, there communicating with a secret organization.  There up to something. There's a mysterious girl (Mirei Kiritani) wearing an all white school uniform appears out of nowhere. She can see through the force field that the android creates to so that other passersby wont see them. But the biggest question is, whose the client who sent Lloyd to protect Asahi?

Anyway, It's an interesting first episode. I was expecting something similar to Zettai Kareshi. But I'm glad that it's much more different than that. I like the chemistry between the two main characters. The action sequence is awesome. I like the setting of a Sci-fi thriller theme. And, that soundtrack is so awesome, it has a movie quality music. Plus, this story is written by the same writer, Yumie Nishiogi, who did the SPEC series, so the story has to be good.

The whole concept of the story intrigues me and I want to keep watching. I'm hoping that this show won't get too complex to the point where it doesn't make any sense at the end. And, hopefully they'll answer some of theses questions above. Overall, I'm definitely looking forward to what this show has to offer.
