Story
Several hundred years ago, humans were nearly exterminated by giants. Giants are typically several stories tall, seem to have no intelligence, devour human beings and, worst of all, seem to do it for the pleasure rather than as a food source. A small percentage of humanity survived by enclosing themselves in a city protected by extremely high walls, even taller than the biggest of giants. Flash forward to the present and the city has not seen a giant in over 100 years. Teenage boy named Eren and his foster sister Mikasa witness something horrific as the city walls are destroyed by a super giant that appears out of thin air. As the smaller giants flood the city, the two kids watch in horror as their mother is eaten alive. Eren vows that he will murder every single giant and take revenge for all of mankind. -ANN
Quick Final Thoughts: I'm usually cautious when it comes to over hyped series. But I decided to give in (thanks to my mom) and watch it. I actually had an awesome time watching this show. The action scenes were so well animated and it's beautiful to look at. Also, the soundtrack is very good. It was interesting to follow the main character's struggles through this cruel world that they live in. The story itself was not complicated to follow. In fact, this series just loves to tease you. You think that they are finally going to give you the answers to: what the hell is going on? Then, all of the sudden it gets side tracked and it ends up going somewhere different. The build up of suspense and mystery was killing me so much that I couldn't wait till next week and to see what would happen next. This series was very addicting to watch. Everything about it was so overly epic and it deserves all the hype that it can get.
I'm almost tempted to pick up the manga and read it where the anime left off. But I'm having way more fun watching the anime. So, I really do hope that they will plan to make another season.
