Nakuna, Hara-chan - First Impression
I’ve taken a look at some of the dramas for this winter season, but none of them really perked my interest to follow it. But I found a drama that is cute and funny. The story has a character that can travel back and forth between the manga world and the real world.
There are no subs yet, so I just summarized the parts that I understood: Echizen (Aso Kumiko) works at a Kamaboko (fish cake) factory. She has a difficulty of expressing her feelings in front of others. So, she lets out her feelings into a notebook where she writes and draws her own manga. She creates a few characters sitting at a bar and venting out their frustrations in life. But one day, one of the characters from her comic, Hara-chan (Nagase Tomoya), manages to enter the real world. He thinks that he entered in another world. He finds Echizen and thinks that she is a god because she created him. However, Echizen-san does not recognize him from her comic and thinks that he’s some weird guy who’s attached to her for some odd reason. Although, Hara notices that she’s seems unhappy about her life. So, he helps her find her own happiness.
Thoughts: Hara-chan is really a hilarious character. His reactions to the things that are unknown to him are fun to watch such as his first time riding in a car, eating food and discovering a six stringed guitar, which his guitar has only four strings on it. But Nagase does a good job at delivering a good comedy which makes him perfect for this role.
I’m curious to see
how the story will unfold. I wonder how
Echizen ended up in a low-end job. It’s
obvious that she’s a good artist, but for some reason she didn’t get to achieve
her goal.
It looks like Hara and Echizen will eventually have feelings
for each. But I wonder how long that’ll last.
Sooner or later, she will probably find out that he’s a character from her
manga. I sense that there’s going to be
bittersweet moment which will tear me apart.
