Hashire! Sayuri chan - What The Final Thoughts
Well, now that my Christmas vacation has started, I have all the free time to catch up on some of the anime/Jdramas that I wanted to watch... Then, I come across to this little weird show.
Average collage students.
Hashire! Sayuri-chan (Run! Sayuri) is a web series produced by Nippon TV and Umabi, which is a horse racing site. That explains why one of the main characters is half human/horse. The story follows a very typical love square romance. The four main characters are Junpei, Rena, Soujiro, and Sayuri, the hybrid human/horse. They live in a world where nobody minds the horse headed girl. They are all completely normal collage students. They are going to graduate soon, so they try to hang out together as much as possible before graduating. Sayuri has a crush on Soujiro and she plans to tell him how she feels about him. But Rena already beat her to it, she confess her feelings to Soujiro and he agrees to date her. Sayuri becomes down and depressed, but then, Junpei confesses his feelings towards her and he likes her ever since they were in high school. Now it's Sayuri x Junpei and Rena x Soujiro. But the twist is: Soujiro is actually not that interested in Rena and he always had feelings for Sayuri ... You pretty much get the whole picture of where this is going.
A typical family: Sayuri's mom is human and her
father is a racing horse.
OH MY HORSE!
Sayuri considers to go out with Junpei if he's able to find
100 four leaf clovers. And, he does that. That is true love.
And I thought that I wouldn't be able to watch any weirder shows than Oniichan Gacha, but this one takes the cake. Hashire Sayuri definitely falls over the edge of reality. Whoever came up with this concept must have done this on purpose to make their site/company memorable. Whether or not people who are interested in horse racing, the company will be remembered by their miniseries about a horse girl who goes to college and has romance troubles.
You can watch the series on Umabi's official website, it's
free and it's not region blocked. It's very easy to watch (if you understand
the basics of Japanese). There's only 4 episode and it's about 10 minuets long. If
you like to explore the weirder side of Japanese entertainment, this one is for
you.
