Kazoku Game - Ep 10 (Final)

Meanwhile, back at the sauna...

Yudai only came back to their home to collect the small cameras that he has hidden in their home. He needs to return them because they were a rental. As he leaves the house, he tells Shinichi that since he quit school, he has do what Yudai tells him to do. Shinichi thinks that he wants him to jump off the balcony and die. But instead Yudai tells him to rebuild the family.

Shinichi questions Sara why did Tago Yudai become Yoshimoto Koya. Yudai once told her that he does not want to repeat Souta's tragedy and wants help others like Souta to live strong. He learned that he can't stop all evil intentions in the world, but he can bring up people who can fight against evil intentions. That's why he became Yoshimoto. Not only that he prevented Shigeyuki from being the second Souta, but he also wanted to prevent Shinichi from turning into a monster like Yoshimoto. Sara gave him Yudai's notebook which has written notes about the Numata family.

Shinichi reads Yudai's notebook out loud to the family. The notebook explains all of his experiments that he set up for each of the family members. They learn what Yudai's final thoughts about the family. He thought they were the worst family that he has ever worked with. The family hasn't changed much and made no progress to build a bond with each other.

Finally, the Numatas realize that they need to change in order to fix their life. Shigeyuki finds the courage to stand up to his friends to stop the bullying. Kazushige apologizes to his old employee who he laid off and he found a another job. After the family move to a small apartment, Kayoko has gotten a part-time job and take matters into her own hands. Shinichi slowly developes a better relationship with his father and brother. He even reconciled with his girlfriend.

Then, Shinichi confronts Yudai to tell him that he broke his family and his methods were all wrong. He blames him for losing the house, quitting school, destroying the family and creating a bond with them. He thanks him for this..

But Shinichi questions Yudai about him leaving a clue in his empty apartment that led him to find Sara. He wonders if he left that clue on purpose so that he could meet with her and learns about Yudai's past from eight years ago. Then, it will make him sympathize for him and start to rebuild his family. He wanted to know if Yudai's past were all really true. However, Yudai only responds to him by saying, "iine."

Final thoughts: Wow, what a surprising cliffhanger. It didn't even cross my mind whether Yudai's past was true or not. But whether it was true or not, at least the Numatas act like a real family and that's all it matters.

Overall, it was a very satisfying drama. I thought all of the actors did great a job. And, yes that's including Sakurai Sho. I applaud Kamiki for giving a very powerful and emotional performance at the end. However, this drama sends out a great message about education and other social issues. It was definitely worth watching.
