Kazoku Game - Ep 7

This episode has not been subbed yet, but I''ll summarize the parts of what I understood.

The mother, Kayoko, met her husband, Kazushige, through her father's recommendation to go out with him. After the marriage and having kids, her father wants her to divorce her husband because he embezzled her father's company money and betrayed him. But Kayoko refuses to get divorced. Back to the present, Kayoko has bought a market stock, which hasn't been doing so well and has gone down. She lost the money and has to pay for the debt that she owes. She goes to her father to borrow some money. But he refuses to do so.

On the bright side, Shigeyuki has been doing really well. He's grades are up and he is making friends, mostly with the ex-bullies. They went on his side because they got tired of the bulling. But his friends suggests to get back at the leader of the bulling for what he did to Shigeyuki.

At the end of of Episode 6, Yoshimoto showed Shinichi's girlfriend a bunch of photos of Shinichi shoplifting, threatening his classmates with a knife/razor, and sabotaging his teacher's bike. He tells her that she can do whatever she wanted with those pictures. She becomes suspicious of Shinichi. Shinichi hangs out less with his girlfriend and more with Maki (Kutsuna Shiori). Maki has become his trusted friend and he is more comfortable around her. But Shinichi has been feeling the stress from his father who keep pondering him about going to a good college. He later reveals to Maki that he wants to quit school, leave his family and find a job. Shinichi broke up with girlfriend. She feels distraught about this and she's about to show the Shinichi's pictures to her teacher.

As a last resort, Kayoko decides to end her life because she believes that her life insurance will take care of the debt . However, Yoshimoto comes in just in time to confront her. He tells her that she can change and wants her to live for her family. That's when Yoshimoto revealed what's going with her situation to the father. The father decides that he will take care of it and even refusing her father's money.

Thoughts: After the previous episode that revealed the pieces of Yoshimoto's past, I think that he isn't all that bad. Yeah, he might be a manipulative-sociopathic bastard, but I think he does truly care for the Numata family. What happened in his past, he does not want to repeat that. I'm  guessing that he wants reconcile with his past by saving the Numata family. Despite that, I'm still a little bit cautious of him because his past is still a mystery.

As for Shigeyuki, I'm glad to see that he has regain his confidence in himself. But I'm worried that he will end up being the bully and get revenge on the guy who bullied him. I hope that the peer pressure from his friends won't get to him.

This drama is getting very addicting for me. It will most likely become one of my favorite drama. I can't wait how all of this will come together in the end.
