Akumu-Chan - First impression (Eps 1-4)

I was a bit hesitant weather or not to continue to watch this drama. But after episode 4, things are starting to get interesting. The story does have an interesting idea about the psychology of dreams and I am curious about the mysterious character in this story.

The mysterious character is Shiki Takashi (Gackt). So far, the show doesn't reveal much about his background history. Other than the fact that he is a university professor in cognitive neuroscience. He is also an assistance of Koto Bannosuke (Kohinata Fumiyo), a neuroscientist, who has made a machine that allows them to watch other people's dream. He mainly built this machine so that he can help his granddaughter, Koto Yuiko (Kimura Manatsu) or Akumu-chan, deal with her precognitive dreams. He later teams up with Ayami, Akumu's school teacher, to help her with Akumu-chan. But he mostly wants to obtain Akumu's dream because he believes that it is the key to something. His motivations are very mysterious. But I'm intrigued to find out more about it.

Then, there's Mutoi Ayami (Kitagawa Keigo), a elementary school teacher. In the public's eye, she's very nice, but in private she's actually a very cold-hearted person. When Akumu transfers to her class, she gets forced in to help her with her dreams that are coming true. When Ayami first sees Shiki, she gets shocked that he looks exactly like her dream prince who shows up every night in her dreams. But Ayami is a little skeptical of him and she's not sure if he really the dream prince or the nightmare prince.

Eventually, Ayami does reveal to everyone that she is a psychopath. She finally cracks under pressure because she later finds out that someone is posting her true identity on a blog, which causes many of her students and school staff to have doubts about her. In episode 4, it did reveal who the culprit was behind the blog. But I don't want to spoil that. It's too good of a twist.

However, the drama uses the same formula with each episode introduces a new nightmare that they have to deal with. It looks into people's dreams and nightmares that reflects their emotions and other problems that they have. It also deals with Ayami who has trust issues which causes her to have a cynical attitude towards life. She probably will have to learn to trust others and open up her feelings to other people. But I mainly want to know what is Shiki's motivation and that's why I want to continue to watch this show.
