Sprout - Ep 10
Souhei continues to search for Miyuki. He searches for her at school and asks Arata and Takeru if they have seen her, but they have not. They help him look for her by searching the entire school building. But Miyuki is no where to be found. Arata suggests that he should search for her in a place where only the two of them know about. Then, Souhei remembers the place where he first asks Miyuki to go out with him.
Souhei arrives at a shrine and finds Miyuki there, waiting for him to find her. However, Miyuki tells him that she wants to break up with him. Souhei doesn't want that to happen and wants to continue to go out with her. He tells her that he will work hard to make Miyuki like him again. But Miyuki doesn't want him to force himself. The reason why she wants to break up with him is because he does not act like himself when he is with her. He is still with her only because of the promise he made to her that he would never leave her side. He doesn't want to betray her and wants to protect that promise. At first, she thought that she wouldn't be able to live without Souhei. But now she understands that she must stand on her own feet and that she's going to be alright. Also, she's glad that their time together was not a waste.
As they leave their separate ways, Miyuki suggests that they should try to say good-bye to each other with a smile on their face.
While this was happening, Miku calls Hayato to tell him about Miyuki's disappearance. But later, she visits Hayato at his part-time job to tell him the good news that Souhei has found Miyuiki. Hayato notices that Miku is very concerned about Souhei. So, he tries to tell her something, but stops in mid-sentence and continues on with his work. Leaving Miku confused about this.
At night, Souhei returns home and tries to act as if nothing has happened. But Taki notices that there's something wrong with him. So, he talks to him. Souhei tells him that he loved Miyuki. Whenever he's feeling down, Miyuki would always be there for him. He admits that the promise he made to her was not a lie. Even if he was forcing himself, he just wanted to keep his promise. But Taki tells him that if people don't fight, then they can't move forward. In order to change, people will have to hurt each other. So, they'll take in that pain and overcome it. Taki says that he learned all of this from Erika, a character from an Otome game.
The next morning, Miku tries to find a way to cheer Souhei up after she discovers that he broke up with Miyuki. She admits that she did eavesdrop on Taki and Souhei's conversation the other night. She asks him if there is anything she can do for him. But Souhei says that he is going to be alright. Then, he gets a phone call from his mother saying that he needs to return to his home and move out of the boarding home.
Thoughts: The break up scene was so sad, but bittersweet. Although, I liked the way they handle that scene. It was straightforward and not too over dramatic. But I also liked Taki's speech at the end, it's sad, but it's honest and true.
In this episode, it gives a small glimpse on Hayato having some doubts about Miku's true feelings towards him. Which means that my favorite pairing is definitely going to fall apart.
I'm not ready to watch the next episode. Hayato breaks up with Miku. And...did I just saw the manager actually trying to kiss Souhei?! Ugh, this can't be happening!
