Kamigami no Asobi - First Impression

I had to take a look at this anime because I love reading stories about mythology. When I looked up this series and learned that it has handsome guys as mythological gods. I have to see this!

The story starts off with Yui Kusangi, who is a daughter of a Shinto family, finds a sword in a shed that transports her to the School of the Gods. The principle of the school is Zeus, who has chosen her to teach the young gods about humanity and love.

The Gods:

Hades Idoneus, Greek God of the Underworld.

 - My favorite type of character, the dark, mysterious, and anti-social personality. Plus, this character is voiced by Daisuke Ono. Oh, he's going to be way too dangerous for me.

Tsukito Totsuka, Japanese God of the Moon.

- When I saw him holding a rabbit, it reminded me of a Japanese folklore tale called "Tsuki no Usagi (The Moon Rabbit)." It talks about how the rabbit ended up on the moon. Also, in Japanese culture, the surface of the moon looks like there's a rabbit pounding mochi or rice cakes in a motar. Seeing Tsukito and a rabbit, it makes sense. I see the connection.

Takeru Totsuka, Sea God and brother of Tsukito.

- I Googled him and found out this guy is related to Susanoo, the storm god.

The Norse Gods, Balder Hringhorni, God of Light, and Loki Laevatein, God of Fire.

- Loki doesn't want anyone touching his man.

Apollon Agana Belea, Greek Sun God, son of Zeus and nephew of Hades.

- Surprisingly, he has a boyish voice coming out of a grown man. But he's adorable. This anime had me at his godly transformation.

First thoughts: I'm starting to see a pattern with Brains Base's otome anime adaptions, and usually the heroine will never end up with any guy. But I could be wrong. Maybe in Kamiaso, the heroine will get the guy and they can fly off, on Pegasus, into the cosmos. But it's nice to see that the heroine, Yui, has a strong personality. She could also become a bad ass character because she knows how to use a sword. So maybe her skills will come of use in the future.

Just judging this series up to the 2nd episode, it looks like it knows that it has a silly story and it's just going to run with it. It has a personality. And, it's ridiculously hilarious. I'm actually enjoying this show and I want see more of it. I'm also looking forward to seeing other gods in this anime. So, I'm just going to sit back and enjoy it.
